Scout
Senior | Male | Adopted
All that little (20 lbs) 13-yr-old Scout wants is a lap. He is happiest when snuggled up against his human (actually, any human). Scout doesn't make any noise: when he wants to go outside, he goes to sit by the back door. When he thinks it should be dinner time, you will find him in the kitchen with his little nose pointed in the direction of the countertop where the doggy dinners are prepared. He'll get himself up onto an easy chair for nap time or sunbathing.
All this is remarkable because Scout came to OBG both blind and deaf. His prior owner couldn't afford the vet care Scout desperately needed. Thanks to the generosity of OBG supporters, Scout has had a dental, deep ear flush, several suspicious lumps removed and a diseased eye excised. He will be seeing the doggy ophthalmologist next week for determination on what is going on with the other eye and a plan of treatment.
Through four surgeries, and four weeks boarding with OBG vets for treatment, little Scout has remained docile and loving. Vet staff rave about his sweet personality. In his foster home, Scout gets along well with the two resident pups and the two cats. He is house trained, and navigates the tiny back yard very well. He quietly spends time in the crate when foster mom is way and at night -- for safety. Scout would prefer a quiet home with one or more adult laps to rotate between.
